If you haven’t read the beginning of my story, you can find it here. This part begins when Beachbody came into my life.
By the summer of 2013, I had been seeing the same numbers on the scales for two months – 175 to 176. I complained to my friend Joe, who I had met through the weight-loss competition. He suggested I try a new program that was being released that summer – Focus T25. Short workouts I can do in under a half hour? Sounds great! Joe also talked me into trying Shakeology, which turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done for my health (but that’s another story). He even convinced me to sign up as a Team Beachbody Coach. I registered just for the 25% discount that Coaches get. I had no intention at that time of ever actually helping others on their journeys.
Focus T25 turned out to be exactly what I needed. It’s still my favorite set of workouts and my first love when it comes to fitness. The combination of strength building with cardio is exactly what I needed to break through that plateau. Plus I found out I actually LIKE Shakeology (it’s nothing like SlimFast!). After two rounds of T25 and Shakeology, I was back to my all time low of 153.4 pounds.
I found myself needing something a little bit more to lose those last few pounds and crack 150 on the scales. That’s when the original 21 Day Fix program launched in February 2014. I have always struggled with portion control, so those color-coded containers really caught my eye. Halfway through my 21 days, I finally did it – I broke 150 pounds on the scales! Of all the things I’ve done and accomplished in my life, getting the scales to say 149.6 was the one I’ve worked hardest to do. That feeling of accomplishment and success was incredible!
Have I kept it off? Quite frankly, no. I kept my weight in the 150s for many months. I drank my Shakeology, did more workouts from Focus T25 and 21 Day Fix, and added PiYo when it was released last year. I did let it all go in December of 2014, and just that one month ended with a weight gain that pushed me back out of the healthy range for my height. As of this writing in March 2015, I’m back into the healthy range and working on getting back into the 150s with 21 Day Fix Extreme.
I have learned that you have to make many changes to your lifestyle if you want to be fit and healthy. Exercise alone won’t do it. Eating veggies alone won’t do it. You have to change the way you eat and the way you move, and it has to become a part of your new lifestyle if you want your results to stick.
Now I’m helping others learn what I have. I started with friends and family, and now I’ve helped over 100 people with their health and fitness journeys. You could be next! Just reach out to me with questions. I’m here to help!
I’m even looking for people to join my team so that together we can reach more people. I firmly believe that we don’t have a health care crisis in the U.S. We have an obesity crisis! So many of our health problems are caused by our weight. Let’s work together to help those around us lose the extra pounds and reclaim their health. Are you ready to help me end the trend of obesity?
